Part 8: Thoughts on Our Lady and Her messages

I have had a very personal relationship with Our Lady since I was 14, when after praying she made her presence known to my heart. A few years later I learned what consecration was and immediately consecrated myself to Her. But as I got older, and entered adulthood, I doubted Her presence in my life, believing it was just my immature teenage brain. I walked away from Her.  But She has always been there for me, even when I have gone down more sinful paths.

I read somewhere that Our Lady never forgets your consecration, even if you have forgotten it,  and will draw you back sooner or later, and I will say that has been true in my life. Recently I renewed this consecration, and I now consecrate myself to Her every day, so that I don't ever forget.  In doing so, my faith has deepened, and I've changed. I used to dread and struggle saying the Rosary and now I look forward to it. I disliked going to Mass and now I feel sad if I am unable to attend it. I avoided going to Confession and now I am frustrated that it is not offered enough near me. I used to not believe in the Real Presence and now I do.

Instead of trying to predict the future, and doom-seeking in messages, seek instead to know and understand Mary. Ask Her, "Dear Mother, please help me know and understand you". Become an infant in her arms and eventually you will end up in the arms of Jesus. This is her goal. She wants ALL of her children in Heaven with Her and Her Son. She doesn't want to lose a single one of us. This is why She gives us Her messages, because it hurts Her as a mother to lose Her children.

The crises that we are experiencing in the Catholic Church, the awful wars that are occurring, the epidemics, the weather disasters, the injustices, are all things we have the power to change and affect through our prayers, specifically the Rosary. She has told us this in approved messages, consistently. Believe Her

I think that it's a great shame that as Catholics we aren't encouraged to read our vast mystical literature.  We as Catholics have way more than apparitions. Read enough of our mystical literature and you will realize that the voice of God, Jesus and Mary remain consistent throughout the ages, whether they are speaking simply or with complexity.

Discover St. Catherine of Siena's dialogues with God.

Learn from St. Gertrude of Helfta, that Jesus doesn't want us to be afraid of loving Mary too much.

Read in the writings of Bl. Dina Belanger how Jesus thirsts for love from priests and the religious (and souls in general)

And for devotees of Mary, the crown jewel of Marian revelations, Ven. Agreda's Mystical City of God

These are only a few.  Saints' Books - Books Available (saintsbooks.net) and Mystics of the Church provide a lot more.

Happy reading and remember to say your Rosary! :)
